On Sunday, after an unprecedented win in the World Cup, many Spanish fled to celebrate at the beach clubs of Ibiza. Here in sunny San Diego we had our own slice of beachside electro-fueled mayhem as CLASSIXX played alongside Designer Drugs and Le Castle Vania at the Wavehouse in Mission Beach.
The nudisco wave has been slowly taking hold here in the U.S. The last couple of years has seen this sound grow from a motley crew of European and Australian producers tossing around throwback samples from the heyday of electro-pop, to a bona fide standalone genre of electronic music. At the vanguard of its US emergence is the L.A. based duo: CLASSIXX.

Their two dance-floor destroyers: Phoenix - Lisztomania (CLASSIXX remix) and CLASSIXX - I'll get you feat. Jeppe, can still be heard resounding in electro clubs around the world. Both packed with crisp male vocal tracks and punchy melodic synths that would make synth-pop legend Philip Oakey of The Human League proud!
This Thursday, CLASSIXX give us a last-minute encore performance at the LED-infused Voyeur SD nightclub. This is the last stop for CLASSIXX before embarking on their summer Austral-Asian tour. There they will meet up with nudisco heavy-weights Bag Raiders (Aus.), Brodinski (Fr.), Medhi (Fr.) and producer/remixer Grum (UK) and more!
Catch CLASSIXX here first - and for the last time is summer - at Voyeur nightclub this Thursday, July 15.
